Azure Nature Tours is run by Caity and Christian, locals who call this remarkable stretch of Central Queensland home. Based at the gateway to Carnarvon Gorge, we guide small groups through the Roof of Queensland: rugged sandstone ranges, hidden gorges, and country most visitors never know exists.
Much of what we share happens on Nyanda, our family’s own working cattle station. The land has been held by the one family for close to sixty years, and it sits on a rock record stretching back over 290 million years.
We started guiding in 2022 as Central Queensland Nature Tours, and became Azure Nature Tours as we grew. The idea hasn’t changed: small groups, real local knowledge, and places no one else can take you.

HOW WE GUIDE
How we can show you around
Follow us over the sandstone ranges of Nyanda to lookouts within Reid’s Dome, one of the most striking geological structures in Queensland. We finish at our spring-fed creek with homemade morning tea.
A scenic drive over the ancient ranges, then a walk into a hidden gorge with rock pools and wildlife. We finish at our lookout over rarely seen parts of Carnarvon National Park.
A full day to the Moss Garden, Amphitheatre, Ward’s Canyon and Art Gallery. Along the way we talk geology, plants, bush tucker and the long human story of the Gorge.

Nyanda, meaning the 'place of many waters'
Nyanda Station is 38,500 acres of sandstone ranges, spring-fed creeks and hidden gorges, still worked on horseback with Droughtmaster cattle. It sits on Reid’s Dome, where the oldest rocks are in the centre and younger layers ring around them, so moving across the property is moving through time.
